Curtain of Prophet Muhammad's Maqam

Bismillah.

Alhamdulillah wa shukrulillah. We saw this magnificent piece of sacred art on display at Kuala Lumpur Convention Center yesterday. It is a gift from an Arab Shaykh to the chief of the Hajj Agency of Malaysia. It is believed to be 107 years old. Made in 1325 Hijri in Mesir, this curtain had once adorned the maqam of Rasulullah s.a.w at Masjid An Nabawi in Madinah.

Verse 54 of Surah Al An'am was embroidered on the top part of the curtain on order of the then Rulers of Egypt - Sultan Mohamed V and Abbas Helmi Basha.

"And when those who believe in Our signs come to you, say, 'Peace be upon you. Your Lord has prescribed for Himself mercy, truly whoever of you does evil in ignorance and repents thereafter and makes amends, truly He is Forgiving, Merciful."

Sadaqallahul azeem.
Sollu alan Nabi!
